Nan Perrine, a shop girl, is falsely accused of theft and later implicated in the murder of store manager Irwin. While trying to protect Kirby, the town prosecutor, and his unfaithful wife Violet, Nan escapes danger and makes sacrifices. Eventually, evidence clears Nan, and Kirby recognizes her innocence and courage.
